Snow Elements (10)

If you need the snow to be longer in duration, simply add a cross dissolve between two clips.

‘Frost by Rocketstock’ Preset/Tool

Frost by RocketStock is a custom preset/tool for After Effects that adds frost to your footage via two custom sliders. Using the effect, you can easily change the frost level and random seed of the frost. For more information on how to use and install the preset, check out the step-by-step instructions below.

Christmas Badges (3)

There are three white christmas badges included in the download that can be easily dropped into your video project. There are three different badges: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Seasons Greetings. Just like the snow overlays, you can key out the black backgrounds by simply changing your transfer mode to screen.

There are two different Christmas backgrounds included in the download. The backgrounds are simple and designed for users to drag and drop text, icons, images, and footage on top.

Christmas Icons (5)

The pack also includes five pre-keyed Christmas icons that can easily be dropped over your footage. The icons are organic and fun, perfect for light-hearted Christmas projects.

Toolfarm Introduces RenderGarden Plug-in for Dramatically Faster Rendering in Adobe After Effects

Essential plug-in for Adobe After Effects CC accelerates render speed by as much as 3X

San Francisco, CA – November 28, 2017 – Toolfarm, a leading global distributor and reseller of video, VFX, 3D, and motion graphics software applications and plug-ins, announced today the release and immediate availability of the new RenderGarden plug-in for Adobe® After Effects® CC (Mac and Windows), developed by Mekajiki. Accelerating render speeds by as much as 3X, RenderGarden leverages existing system hardware processing power to improve the speed of motion graphics and visual effects workflows.

WATCH NOW: RenderGarden for After Effects

RenderGarden can increase render speeds by up to 300% on a single computer by taking advantage of multi-processing in After Effects. In addition to single system optimization, RenderGarden features unlimited render nodes for leveraging the processing power of multiple systems across a single network. This is ideal to render large QuickTime movies, AVI movies, and image sequences at warp speed. RenderGarden works in the background, allowing After Effects users to continue working without interruptions. RenderGarden also provides automated post-render transcoding to MP4 and QuickTime movies.

“RenderGarden was born from a recent multi-user After Effects project at Swordfish, our sister company that does design and production. The team was working off-site in 6K and did not have access to our internal render farm. With the large file sizes, we quickly hit a bottleneck,” said Matt Silverman, CEO at Mekajiki. “Setting up a render farm was not quick or in the budget. Our team repurposed some custom code we wrote for our render set up. The result was a simplified distributed rendering tool for After Effects. After putting it through the paces, we have fine-tuned RenderGarden into a formidable workhorse and we’re excited to share it with the rest of the After Effects community via Toolfarm!”

“We are thrilled to announce the launch and distribution of RenderGarden,” said Jason Sharp, president, Toolfarm, Inc. “At Toolfarm, we’re always looking for tools that help increase the productivity of motion graphics artists. RenderGarden will become an essential tool for After Effects artists on every project.”

RenderGarden is available immediately from Toolfarm at an MSRP of $99 USD. To purchase, or for more information, please visit

Bodymovin Extension for AE Updated to v4.12.0

If you’re exporting Adobe After Effects animations to the web and you’re creating GIFs in Photoshop with a frame animation, you’ll know what a total pain it is. There’s a better way! Bodymovin is a must have tool, plus, it’s FREE! Bodymovin v4.12.0 was created by Hernan Torrisi and is an extension for After Effects that lets you export your animations to the web as HTML5, SVG, or JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), or natively on Android and iOS through Lottie. It’s now available with new shape expressions.

Lottie is a new open-source animation tool by Airbnb of all companies! “Lottie is an iOS, Android, and React Native library that renders After Effects animations in real time, allowing apps to use animations as easily as they use static images.”

It supports Ourboros. Ourboros is an After Effects script developed by Sander van Dijk and Remco Janssen and allows users to create multiple strokes on one path in After Effects.

There are a couple of ways that you can get Bodymovin.

  1. Adobe Add-ons – the fastest and easiest method of procuring Bodymovin
  2. GitHub

After you install it, you will find it in After Effects at Windows > Extensions > Bodymovin.

These tutorial is a year old so it doesn’t include the new features, but Matt Wilson will give you a nice introduction on what it does and how it works.

Other ways to put Animation on the Web

Remember Flash? It has been rebranded as Adobe Animate CC and it allows you to create cartoons or other types of animation for the web and export as “HTML5 Canvas, Flash Player & Air, WebGL, or custom platforms such as Snap SVG”. Adobe Animate CC is part of Adobe Creative Cloud.
