Getting Started with Radium Glow Video Tutorial

John Dickinson has just uploaded a new training video for Red Giant Software Radium Glow. The video is 17 minutes(35MB Quicktime) and John explains the basic workflow for the plug-in.

This was the first time I’d used the effect and have been pretty impressed with the results; you have a lot of control over exactly how and where the glow appears on your footage. Definitely worth a look.

The tutorial shows the Adobe After Effects version but it the plug-in also works in Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion and Avid AVX2 systems. One license, all host apps on one computer!

Adobe MAX Awards Deadline September 5, 2008

adobeEnter your work to be show in the Adobe MAX Events which will be stopping in San Francisco, Milan and Tokyo. Enter in one of six categories: Advertising & Branding, Enterprise, Mobility and Devices, Public Sector, Rich Internet Application, and Video.

The top three finalists will get to go to San Francisco where a winner will be selected, as well as the People’s Choice. The deadline for all entries is Friday, September 5, 2008.

Nth Layer Selector Script at AEScripts.com

nth layerThis little script, Nth Layer Selector will, not surprisingly, select every Nth layer. Get the script here. The little duck image was so cute that I had to include it.

If you’re curious:

Adj. 1. nth - last or greatest in an indefinitely large series; “to the nth degree”n-th
ordinal - being or denoting a numerical order in a series; “ordinal numbers “; “held an ordinal rank of seventh ”

If you have a set of layers already selected it will select every Nth layer from within that selection otherwise it will select every Nth layer from the whole comp.*
