Sean Safreed, co-founder of Red Giant Software, has a tutorial up at Studio Daily, Create Animated Titles with Trapcode in Final Cut Pro. It’s similar to the demo that Sean gave me to show at NAB at the Apple booth where I was demoing FxPlug Plug-ins. It’s purdy.

New Free Trapcode Tutorial from John Dickinson
John Dickinson shows you how to use Trapcode Starglow and Shine in Final Cut Pro. He shows you some tricks about managing presets in Final Cut Pro.
Learn more about Trapcode Starglow and Trapcode Shine in our Plug-in Finder. These are multi-installer plug-ins meaning that you get the AE, Premiere Pro, FCP, Motion and Avid installers and your serial number works in all of them. How cool is that!
Nightclub Lights
This is a spinning nightclub style element I came up with for a project using 4 Color Gradient, Trapcode Shine, and Knoll Light Factory. Pacifier not included. Project is 720p.
Text Preset
Here’s a simple text preset using a few techniques I commonly use. In short, combining the Set Matte filter with the AE Type tool can lead to some quick and easy results.
There’s some Fractal Noise in the background creating a slight fog effect, and
an Adjustment Layer with a little Glow and Trapcode Shine for a touch of pizzazz.
The type is freely editable on one layer.

“SparklerTicular” or..”ParticuSparkler”
As Independence Day approaches, I’ve been working on a lot of things that require fireworks. Trapcode Particular has been invaluable for this.
Here’s a project that attempts to simulate a sparkler firework. The emitters all use one AE Light, so it should be easy to move around, or attach to an object.
There are a couple other Trapcode Plug-Ins used in the project: Shine and Starglow. These give some nice glow and tinting to the sparkler. They very much help, but are not required to use the Particular settings.
All of these plug-ins are available through Toolfarm.
LED Billboard Effect
This project combines CC Ball Action, Glow and Trapcode Shine to simulate a sort of billboard effect. This is the same effect I recently used on a I on a TV promo I did.
For a demo of Trapcode Shine, download it from Toolfarm.
