New Video Tutorial by Rob Birnholz
Rob Birnholz is our newest Expert on the Toolfarm Expert Forums and he has created a fantastic new tutorial. Rob shows you how to create a cool movie promo bumper for a fake movie channel. He uses native After Effects filters in some interesting ways, including CC Repetile to make a film strip, Twirl to give the film some nice natural movement, and lots of 3D layers.
You Suck at Photoshop – Funny Friday
It’s been a rough week. I’ve been fighting this awful flu and been busy with MyToolfarm’s huge launch, so I figure it’s time to lighten the mood.
Have you caught any of Donnie’s You Suck at Photoshop video tutorials? They are so funny! The sixth in the series went online this week. I’d recommend watching them all. You might learn a little bit about Photoshop. (Note: The humor is a little vulgar at times, so if you’re not into that, you may want to pass.)
Also, speaking of MyToolfarm…. please stop by and check it out. Upload some stuff, enter the Red Giant NAB contest, get your work reviewed by your peers, get inspired….
MyToolfarm Beta Officially Launches with Red Giant Contest!
What is MyToolfarm?
MyToolfarm is a collaborative community for MoGraph and VFX Artists. Get inspired by and comment on the work of your peers, as well as receive feedback on your uploaded work. Explore the hottest trends and techniques and learn how plug-ins can expand your creativity.
We’re kicking off the launch with our first contest, a partnership with Red Giant Software. Submit video for the Red Giant/NAB Contest and the winning entry will receive a trip to NAB in April. View contest rules and prize information.
MyToolfarm launch
We’re planning to launch the new feature, MyToolfarm, by next Monday and we could use your help!
MyToolfarm will be the next hottest content swapping community for video editors and compositors.
Show off your skills and promote the plug-ins and tools that you use. Plus, hook up with other artists and find someone to help you on your next job… and companies and producers can find your work too. You can upload your work for feedback or help!
MyToolfarm still has a few bugs that we’re working out but it’s pretty much 100% functional. If you would like to get in early, please email me at michele@toolfarm.com
We have something extra special planned for the launch, and there will be a lot of traffic. Lots of eyes will see your work!
