Adobe Creative Cloud 2018 (Fall 2017 Release) Now Available

On October 18, 2017 at Adobe MAX, Adobe announced the release of Adobe Creative Cloud 2018 (Fall 2017 release) loaded with with new applications and significant innovations across their flagship tools.

Adobe brings the next generation of Creative Cloud

Three themes guided Adobe throughout their journey to redefine modern creativity:

  • First, bringing about next-generation experiences that embrace a truly modern approach, so you can work anywhere and any way you want.
  • Second, increasing accessibility to creativity by investing in assets, education and support to make it easier for you to be successful using any platform.
  • Lastly, accelerating creativity with Adobe Sensei by embedding artificial intelligence capabilities into our products, which make great design more accessible for everyone.

So what’s new in CC 2018?

To empower photographers of all levels, we have built the all new Lightroom CC, a cloud-centric photo service for editing, organizing, storing, and sharing photos – from anywhere. For photographers who prefer a more traditional desktop-first workflow, we have also brought performance and editing improvements to Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC, previously known as Photoshop Lightroom CC.

For designers, we’re introducing two new applications that help you expand your skillsets. Previously in beta, Adobe XD CC is the all-in-one cross-platform solution for designing and prototyping mobile apps and websites. Additionally, Dimension CC, previously called Project Felix, enables graphic designers with no 3D experience to quickly create and iterate on photorealistic 3D images.

We also launched Character Animator CC, a 2D animation tool previously in beta, that helps bring still image artwork from Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC to life.

Last but not least, we introduced performance enhancements and new features to Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe InDesign CC, Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe After Effects CC.

Easier Access to Your Photos, Simplified Pen Tool, In-Product Learning and So Much More

This version of Photoshop is much easier to learn for the millions of beginners who try it for the first time every year. Test out the new learn panel and other ease-of-use improvements like the new Curvature Pen Tool. We’ve integrated Lightroom Photos into the start screen and search to save you time when working with mobile and other images you’ve synced via Lightroom CC. We also addressed a number of pro requests like your #1 request of all time – improved brush preset management, and much more.

Significantly expanded support for photographers:

Many of our customers use Photoshop and Lightroom together to create beautiful images. Lightroom has expanded significantly over the past few years, including adding web and mobile versions and connecting all your synced Lightroom photos together via Lightroom Cloud Services. Now we are connecting Photoshop to your Lightroom cloud catalog.  This creates a unified experience for your photos across the full Lightroom and Photoshop portfolio.

Lightroom Photos is now available in the Photoshop start screen and search, so you can search or browse the photos you’ve synced across Lightroom’s desktop, mobile and cloud experiences and import and edit them directly in Photoshop. The search functionality in Lightroom Photos is powered by Sensei so you can search through your photos even if you’ve never tagged them.

This first version of Lightroom Photos in Photoshop will help you save time sending images from place to place, particularly when working with those you’ve captured via the mobile version of Lightroom.

And Much More!

PR: MAXON Adds New Dimension to Design with Cineware for Illustrator

New Plugin Allows Artists to Integrate 3D Content Directly in Adobe Illustrator CC.

Friedrichsdorf, Germany – October 10, 2017 – MAXON, the leading developer of the professional 3D modeling, animation, painting and rendering solution Cinema 4D, today announced the release of Cineware for Illustrator. This new plugin allows artists and designers to add and edit 3D objects directly within Adobe Illustrator CC, the industry-standard vector graphics application included in the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Cineware for Illustrator

Cineware for Illustrator uses the same powerful 3D engine as Cinema 4D, MAXON’s industry-leading, intuitive, professional 3D application. Users can import any Cinema 4D file, and tweak the view, lighting and textures in order to integrate 3D elements with 2D designs or use 3D elements as templates when creating vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator. MAXON has partnered with Turbosquid, the leading online source for 3D models, to provide Cineware for Illustrator users a “jump start” into the third dimension with a collection of ready-to-use 3D models including common product packaging and other 3D objects. And, of course, users of Cinema 4D can create and share their own custom 3D content for use in Adobe Illustrator.

Motion designers have enjoyed similar integration of Cinema 4D technology within Adobe After Effects CC since the introduction of the Cineware bridge in 2013. Cineware for Illustrator offers even more power, allowing designers to adjust object visibility, textures and lighting from within Adobe Illustrator. This introduces a powerful workflow for designers to visualize product labels, incorporate rich 3D content into Illustrator composites, or even arrange 3D elements as guides for form and perspective when creating vector artwork.

“Cinema 4D has long offered a fantastic, easy-to-learn toolset for product visualization and graphic design,” says Harald Egel, managing partner at MAXON Computer GmbH. “With Cineware for Illustrator we’re making both the Cinema 4D toolset and 3D in general more accessible to designers, and plan to develop this workflow even further in the future.”

Cineware for Adobe Illustrator Feature Highlights

  • 3D Objects: Rotate, position and show/hide individual 3D objects from any Cinema 4D scene, all within Adobe Illustrator.
  • Materials: Adjust the color, reflection, luminance, transparency, and bump directly within Adobe Illustrator. Users can even apply vector artwork to the surface of 3D models.
  • Cameras: Switch between pre-set cameras or use simple navigation tools to choose preferred viewing angle.
  • Lights: Enable or disable lights, and change their color to set a mood and emphasize shapes.
  • Integrate: Workflow allows easy removal of the background by choosing the automatically created alpha map so 3D elements can be integrated into existing vector artwork.

Availability

Cineware for Illustrator is available at no cost for MacOS and Windows 10 on the MAXON web site.
