A public beta of BCC 6 FxPlug for Apple Pro Video Applications is now available!

BCC 6 FxPlug brings over 200 filters to Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Final Cut Express. In addition to new features included with the recently-released BCC 6 AE for Adobe – such as Extruded Text, Splines, and Shapes – BCC 6 FxPlug takes advantage of Apple FxPlug’s real-time architecture for simultaneous live previews of dozens of preset transitions, glows, and color and film look effects in a newly-designed effects browser window. Code-named “Popcorn”, this new technology delivers the best of Boris on Apple’s FxPlug platform.

Tutorial: Getting Started with FreeForm AE

Try the new plug-in from Digieffects, FreeForm AE. It’s an After Effects plug-in that allows you to distort layers in 3D space.

The tutorial shows you how to make a sail look like it’s being inflated by the wind. Alicia VanHuelen of Toolfarm creates a very cool Viking ship in AE and manipulates the sail and water with FreeForm AE. Digieffects FreeForm AE is still on sale for $100 off through Thrusday (NAB Special extended).

Face Replacement Tutorials from David Torno

David Torno, who you may remember from the interview about Flight of the Conchords Ladies of the World video, has some tutorials up about face replacement, which he used in the music video for Pistol Youth featuring the Golden Girls (and RIP Bea Arthur… you were a very funny lady).

David shows how to use After Effects and Mocha AE to accomplish the effect.

New Video Tutorial by Rob Birnholz

Rob Birnholz is our newest Expert on the Toolfarm Expert Forums and he has created a fantastic new tutorial. Rob shows you how to create a cool movie promo bumper for a fake movie channel. He uses native After Effects filters in some interesting ways, including CC Repetile to make a film strip, Twirl to give the film some nice natural movement, and lots of 3D layers.
