Check out the newest tutorial from Maltaannon.com, the Text Ramp. It doesn’t look like much, but it overcomes a huge problem with Ramps in After Effects. It shows how to build a preset that solves the problem with Ramp effect applied to text layers. After applying the preset, the ramp effect will follow the layers position. Normally you have to reposition everything each time you make a change to the text position, which is a huge annoyance.
