If you missed the Chicago Motion Graphics Festival, this is one of the classes you missed out on! This 34 minute tutorial covers concepts in motion tracking, rotoscoping, the graph editor, 3d space/lighting, useful workflow tips, and a whole lot more.
The lesson covers a real world project where some footage needed to be modified to be used for a different location. The change that needed to be made was to a record label with a certain logo that had to be removed. There are numerous challenges, as the record is spinning, the hand overlaps and manipulates the record, and there are strobe lights going off around it.
This just goes to show that, although there are many other visual effects tools out there, AE can be a very powerful tracking, roto and painting environment.
