Like many of these AE Freemart posts, this one started as a question on a forum: how to make letters animate on one-by-one with a little overshoot and then snap back into place. I’m not sure if I did it the best way, but it works. There is an expression slider that drives the range of two animators with differing values, with one offset by a little bit. Then to tidy things up, I slipped in another expression that checked for negative values and other unsightly things that the slider was causing. I’ve included the preset and the project that you see here.
